Incineration is a kill medal awarded in Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 3 Multiplayer for killing an opponent that has been set on fire. Incineration is a kill medal awarded in Halo 3 Multiplayer for killing an opponent with a flame-based weapon such as the Flamethrower or Fire Bomb Grenade (also known as an Incendiary Grenade). It is represented by a 16-pointed star with a flaming skull in the middle of it.

An opponent may be set on fire using a Flamethrower or a firebomb.
Currently, the only map this medal may be earned and achieved on in Matchmaking is Construct. Construct contains the only fire-based weapon in any standard Halo 3 multiplayer level; a single Flamethrower in the center of the lowest section and portion of the map.

The medal can only be earned in Matchmaking when playing on Construct. This is because Construct is the only level to contain a fire-based weapon by default: a single Flamethrower in the center of the lowest part of the map. Firebombs do not appear in any other multiplayer maps by default.
Also, the Flamethrower is the only incineration weapon that has appeared in Matchmaking, the Fire Bomb Grenade has yet to appear in a match made game because of balancing issues.

Trivia
Although fire is required to earn the medal, one can earn an incineration medal without actually being the one who caused the fire. Proof of this has been filmed by a Spartan who goes by the Gamertag of Gnoizic and can be watched here from Gnoizic's File Share as he earns the medal by shooting down a burning opponent with an Assault Rifle.
*Earning ten Incineration medals on the Halo 3: ODST level Data Hive will unlock the I Like Fire achievement.
*The medal was visible on bungie.net, on the Halo: Reach stats page, yet it was not included into the final version of the game due to the lack of incendiary weapons.
