Any way we could find out?

Is there any way we could find out what the Inner Colony Wars were about? Like contacting a Bungie employee, or something? Perhaps they could shed some light on the matter. --UNSC Trooper   TalkMy Work 19:24, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

It may just be an other name for the Interplanetary War or an error. But asking a Bungie employee or the writer of Second Sun Rise can clear things up.--Jack Black 01:48, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

"Inner Colony Wars"

Wouldn't this just be another name for the Insurrection? --Specops306, Kora 'Morhek 08:50, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

The Insurrection was fought in the Outer Colonies. --UNSC Trooper   TalkMy Work 09:32, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Interplanetary War

It seems obvious to me that this is just another name used to refer to the events of the 2160's. Simply because the concept of "inner" and "outer" colonies didn't exist back then doesn't really disprove this; it may be just another name, coined well after the conflict itself. For example, World War I wasn't obviously called that before World War II.

Why would I assume this? Because there has been no mention of any wars occurring during the 2400's anywhere. If this conflict was really so major that it "almost tore down Earth's culture", I'm sure it would be mentioned elsewhere. Even The Impossible Life and the Possible Death of Preston J. Cole, which recounts some of the most important events that led to the Insurrection, doesn't mention any fighting happening in the Inner Colonies during the 2400's. Again, if a conflict like this existed, I'm pretty sure it would've been mentioned at least once. Plus, I find it hard to believe that a war would break out in the wealthy and generally stable Inner Colonies as late as the 2400's.

It would actually make sense for this to be a name for all of the events in the 2160's, including the Jovian Moons Campaign, Rain Forest Wars, Argyre Planitia Campaign and finally, the Interplanetary War since it's implied that "Interplanetary War" refers to the final stage of the wars only, with the earlier ones being classified as distinct conflicts for some reason.--Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 14:06, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Yay! Late reply! :P
Makes perfect sense as the concept of Inner and Outer Colonies weren't developed in the 22nd century.- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 13:11, 17 January 2011 (EST)
Bumping old discussion. Should this proposal pass, I would suggest making the Inner Colony Wars as the hub the events of 2160-2170. — subtank 11:02, 31 January 2011 (EST)
I still think it's more likely to be another name for the Insurrection. Most of the discontent was in the Outer Colonies, it's true, but the heaviest fighting was on Inner Colonies like Reach, Tribute, Harmony, and so on. The ONI officer mentions the need to censor and repackage information to prevent panic, something I imagine they would have learnt fighting extremist terrorists. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 16:11, 31 January 2011 (EST)
