Apologies, instead of "Composed of pure photons" I should have used "Comprised solely of photons. And after reading your last post I do concede defeat, with one last statement. I had assumed that the Forerunners had made discoveries in monopolarity as suggested by string theory, and that the weapon may have alternately cycled its magnetic fields in order to make the most efficient use of its plasma.
