- John117, do you just go around calling established ranks speculation because it is fun? Lieutenant (Senior Grade) is an established rank used countless times throughout the books, normally to describe UNSC Navy personnel.--Rotaretilbo 17:27, 05 December 2006

Holy crap, do any of you even know the current US Navy rank structure. They don't call their "Full Lieutenants" the name of "Lieutenant Senior Grade". Their known as "Lieutenants", yes, just Lieutenant. CommanderTony 16:46, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- Senior Grade or Full is just a way to establish its difference from Junior Grade, as Lieutenant can also be used as a disambiguous term to refer to anyone holding a rank involving Lieutenant. Similar to how Sergeant is used as a disambiguous term occassionally.--Rot] 20:56, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
