Sam Marcus was a technician aboard the UNSC Pillar of Autumn.
Sam Marcus was tasked with reviving Spartan-117 before the Pillar of Autumn's crash-landing on Installation 04. He was a friend of Tech Chief Thom Sheperd. He had not seen his wife, Ellen Marcus, in three years as she lived on Earth and the war simply did not allow it.
He was killed by Elites who had boarded the ship. He died while trying to reach a picture of his wife Ellen.
