General Kits led  1,600 Marines during the [[Battle of Sigma Octanus IV]] in an attempt to capture a city held by the [[Covenant]]. He and most of his men were killed in action by the Covenant, as the [[humans]] had not yet encountered the [[Hunters]] and were unprepared to fight them.<ref>[[Halo: The Fall of Reach]]</ref> General Kits' position on [[HIGHCOM]] Security Committee was taken by [[Major General]] [[Nicolas Strauss]] upon his death.
