So as to whether or not the Forerunners or the Precursors installed a logic plague in the Domain in order to corrupt Cortana to take control of the galaxy, it's certainly a valid possibility, it's just that I can't imagine why either would do this. To be fair, the Precursors do make extremely complex plans that are not at all easy to predict.
