'''Isaac-039''' was one of the [[SPARTAN-II]] supersoldiers. Isaac was not well known among the Spartans, likely because he did not seem to have a close relationship with [[John-117]] or [[Spartan-104|Fredric-104]]. He did, however, appear to be close to [[Spartan-030|Vinh-030]].

Isaac was conscripted into the SPARTAN-II program in [[2517]] at age six, when [[Dr. Catherine Halsey]] singled him out as a perfect genetic match for the Spartan-II Program. He was abducted from his home and replaced with a [[Flash-Cloning|Flash-Clone]]. He was then taken to [[Reach]] where he was trained with the rest of the Spartan candidates by [[Deja]] and [[Chief Petty Officer Mendez]].  

Isaac was never mentioned by name until the [[Battle of Reach]] in [[2552]]. He was assigned to Red team, under the command of Fred. They were assigned to the surface of Reach to defend the generators for the orbital [[MAC]] guns. As they descended, their [[Pelican]], [[Bravo 001]], was hit and the Spartans were forced to jump from the crashing vessel. Isaac was wounded during this jump, suffering two dislocated arms which hampered his fighting ability severely.<ref>[[Halo: First Strike]],  Page 14</ref>

He was then assigned to "Delta" Team by Fred, under charge of [[Spartan-043|Will-043]]. Their mission was to secure the fallback position for the Spartans in [[CASTLE Base]]. Vinh, Will, and Isaac were separated from three other Spartans and the remaining members of [[Charlie Company]], but arrived at CASTLE Base later.<ref>[[Halo: First Strike]], Page 116</ref> They were unable to enter the facility until Fred and [[Spartan-087|Kelly-087]] met up with them and whispered [[Oly Oly Oxen Free]] into the speaker of the facility.<ref>[[Halo: First Strike]], Page 118</ref> Dr. Catherine Halsey was present, and opened the door for them. He was then checked out by Dr. Halsey and sent to survey perimeter defenses for the facility, along with Vinh. This proved unnecessary however, as the Covenant attacked immediately.

Vinh, Isaac, Fred, Kelly, Will, and Dr. Halsey were then trapped under CASTLE Base for several days after Halsey activated [[Operation: WHITE GLOVE]] to destroy the base and keep it from falling into enemy hands. Isaac was able to upgrade his [[MJOLNIR|MJOLNIR Armor]] with parts salvaged from the base.  

After Fred discovered the massive room containing the [[Forerunner Crystal]], it sent a massive radiation spike that allowed the Covenant to triangulate on the group's position. <ref>[[Halo: First Strike]], Page 146</ref>A Covenant [[Gravity Lift]] quickly appeared. The group retreated to a nearby tunnel, as Vinh and Isaac dropped [[Satchel Charge|Satchel Charges]] to cover the Spartan's tracks. The Charges detonated, but Vinh and Isaac disappeared. They could not be raised on the [[COM]] and it is highly likely that they are dead. Isaac is [[Spartan MIA Protocol|listed as MIA]], but is assumed to be KIA. It is possible, though extremely unlikely, that he was captured by the Covenant and is still alive.<ref>[[Halo: First Strike]], Pages 147-148</ref>
