Orbital defense platform: Difference between revisions

Super [[MAC]] Platforms were first mentioned in the book [[Halo: The Fall of Reach]] (there were twelve defending the military strong hold [[Reach]], running off power from generators on the planet), and the [[Spartans]] were sent to defend them in order to buy the [[UNSC]] ships in space more time, but eventually failed. After the fall of Reach, a [[UNSC]] officer wanted to send a small battle group to the [[Epsilon Eridani]] system to learn its fate and look for survivors, but Colonel [[James Ackerson]] refused to allow it, saying the [[UNSC]] needed all the ships they could get to defend earth untill the new Orbital Defense was up. This eventually turned out to be 300 hundred Super [[Mac]]’s around [[Earth]] for all round defense.
