Punic-class supercarrier: Difference between revisions

Although almost nothing is known about the UNSC Supercarrier, it is reasonable to think that this warship classification would have been one of the most powerful group of ships made by the UNSC known to date. Its designation as a ''Super''carrier most definitely makes it more powerful than the standard UNSC Carrier, in addition of having 10 meters of Titanium-A armor plating makes it much more resilient than a Carrier. No further mentions have been made about the remaining carriers or about construction of new ones. These ships could have surpassed the length of the covenant Assualt Carrier. Due to the size of the ships, they were reserved for only the highest ranking officers in the navy. The weapons installed on the ship made it a mini fleet, capable of defeating a small rebel cruiser fleet. A possible 3-4 mac cannons, 50 deck guns, over 1800 archer missile pods, and if ONI went to the limits with the captured shield guantlet, installed a limited shield system. There are many facts that support this; the Rhino plasma tank from halo wars, the shielding on the fighters from Halo Reach, and the captured covenant weapons throughout the war that were tested by ONI. The ship was more than a match for two covenant cruisers and two destroyers. It is likely that a number of these ships participated in Operation Trebuchet. It is definite that more than 5 of these ships participated in the "seige of the inner colonies", but by The Battle of Psi Serpentis only one was left, the Trafalgar which was destroyed in the first Battle Of Reach
