Palmer appears to have a great level of respect for the Master Chief. Despite the vast difference in their ranks, she was willing to follow his tactical command during the Battle of Requiem. When ordered to arrest him by Captain Andrew Del Rio, Palmer ignored the order alongside Lasky, allowing the Master Chief to take Cortana and depart to fight the Ur-Didact whom Del Rio refused to deal with, instead choosing to run. However, in hindsight, she would acknowledge that Cortana should've been placed into stasis instead of being allowed to leave with the Master Chief.
