As the above section title says, the [[Halo Encyclopedia]] has nicknamed the Sentinel Beam as the "Phaser", "Laser Gun", and also "Ray Gun", among many others such names. Though I might add that calling it the "Laser Gun" seems inappropriate, as laser beams are typically red or green, like in Star Wars, and of course, Halo, and not to mention the purple-colored Pulse Laser Turrets the Covenant uses on their interstellar warships, whereas the Sentinel Beam has a reddish-orange-colored beam.
