Milestones are reached by attaining a certain level of Halo gamerscore. When designated Halo gamerscore levels are reached, new Milestones are earned and awarded in the Career section. Every 100 Halo Gamerscore increases the player's Career Level. Using the dates of the [[achievement]]s earned, [[Halo Waypoint]] also includes the specific date they reached each particular level.
Milestones were reached by attaining a certain level of Halo gamerscore. When designated Halo [[Gamerscore]] levels were reached, new Milestones were earned and awarded in the Career section. Players began at Milestone 1. As new Halo achievements were earned, players leveled up their career milestone. As new Halo achievements are earned players level up your career milestone. There were originally 40 milestones available at launch.  It takes about 60% of the total achievement points unlocked to reach the highest milestone.<ref>http://au.xboxlive.ign.com/articles/103/1036744p1.html</ref> All those on a player's friend list are able to view the player's milestones.

The current maximum level for [[Halo Waypoint]] is level 64. Future titles will bring about an increase in the maximum Career Level.
There were originally 40 milestones available at launch. It took 8900 Halo [[Gamerscore]] to reach the final maximum milestone 100. All those on a player's friend list were able to view the player's milestones.
