Z'nick 'Berda was a Sangheili Ussan and a floatfighter of the Refuge.[1]

Biography

Z'nick 'Berda was a skilled floatfighter of the Refuge. During 'Kinsa's rebellion throughout the colony in 2553, Kaidon Bal'Tol 'Xellus challenged 'Kinsa to a floatfighting match with two teams of ten to determine which side would rule the Refuge; 'Kinsa accepted. The best floatfighter available at the time of the match, Z'nick was chosen as a member of Bal'Tol's team, alongside eight other Sangheili—most of which were patrollers.[1]

Before the match started, Z'nick and Bal'Tol realized that V'urm 'Kerdeck—an extremely skilled floatfighter—was a member of 'Kinsa's team. Z'nick suggested for Bal'Tol to stay behind him while he engaged V'urm. When 'Kinsa arrived, the two realized that he had brought an additional teammate and Z'nick noted that 'Kinsa himself was armed with a mec-missiler, a weapon that was traditionally banned from floatfighting due to its lethality. When the match began, V'urm attempted to engage Bal'Tol, but Z'nick intercepted him. While the two fought, Bal'Tol searched for 'Kinsa. Ultimately, V'urm managed to kill Z'nick and then pursued Bal'Tol. However, the match was interrupted when monitor Enduring Bias arrived and killed V'urm.[1]
