X-06 is the first exclusive track in the Halo Wars: Original Soundtrack Bonus DVD.
Overview[edit]
The track opens with strings and woodwinds playing a flowing melody. A solo clarinet take over, playing a somber rendition of the first two phrases of the Gregorian chant from the Halo Theme. Strings and percussion take over with a heavy melody building up to a climatic ending.

It was played during the Halo Wars announcement trailer in 2006.
Production notes[edit]
- The track's title was derived from the similarly-named X06 media briefing during which Halo Wars was announced.
- X-06 and Under Your Hurdles, which also features the same somber rendition of the Halo Theme, were the only tracks in the soundtrack composed by Kevin McMullan, the Audio Lead for Halo Wars.
