W. Handford

W. Handford was a UNSC Navy Ensign aboard the CMA Season of Plenty in 2489. His service number was 00786-31761-OM.[1]
Background
On September 22, 2489 as Season of Plenty was preparing to jump to slipspace the ship's new AI Lorelei shut herself down for routine maintenance. Rather than rebooting the backup intelligence, Lieutenant Commander Nevel ordered Ensign Otto Seinmann to do the slipspace calculations by hand. Seinmann had Crewman Apprentice Preston Cole do most of the work for him instead.
Handford warned Seinmann that he would be in hot water if the lieutenant commander found out he was having someone else do his work for him. They also made a crack about Seinmann having bad breath.
That November Handford performed just average on the ship's bi-annual evaluations, and was neither promoted nor given additional training.
