Vidmaster Challenge: Lightswitch is a Halo 3 achievement added in Title Update 2, in which the player must achieve the rank of Lieutenant in any playlist in the TU2 EXP progression system. Prior to March 31, 2012 the achievement was necessary in order to unlock Recon armor; after this date the armor is unlocked by default.

The player must gain 50 playlist EXP to reach the rank of playlist Lieutenant. Double EXP weekend playlists such as Grifball are a great way to start earning quick playlist exp.

It is represented by a Lieutenant rank insignia on a green Marathon symbol.

Trivia

• The achievement was named so because of the Lieutenant insignia's similarity with a household light switch.
• Keep in mind that reaching the overall rank of Lieutenant will not unlock the achievement. As the description states, Lieutenant must be achieved in a single playlist, such as Social Slayer.
