Vidmaster Challenge: Lightswitch is a Halo 3 achievement added in Title Update 2. It was unlocked by achieving the rank of Lieutenant in any playlist in the Title Update 2 EXP progression system. It is represented by a Lieutenant rank insignia on a green Marathon symbol.

Following the shutdown of Xbox 360 Halo online services on January 13, 2022, this achievement is no longer attainable.

Prior to March 31, 2012, the achievement was one of seven Vidmaster Challenges necessary in order to unlock Recon armor, as part of the Road to Recon. After this date, Bungie.net's online stat-tracking services were discontinued and the armor was given out to all players by 343 Industries in two waves, and is no longer accessible.

Trivia

• The achievement was named so because of the Lieutenant insignia's similarity with a household light switch.
• Reaching the overall rank of Lieutenant would not unlock the achievement. As the description states, Lieutenant must have been achieved in a single playlist, such as Social Slayer.
