UNSCMID
UNSCMID, presumably short for "UNSC Military/Medical Identification," is a numerical identification assigned to members of the United Nations Space Command armed forces. Very similar, but apparently not equivalent, to the Service Number, the UNSCMID consists of seven, eight, or nine numbers and is unique for every serviceman.[Note 1]

- ^ It is unclear why UNSCMIDs are used sometimes while Service Numbers are used the majority of the time, though both identifications are used in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, confirming that they are either two separate systems or a minor error on the part of the author.
