Death Scene[edit]

There are some people around here who seem to think that Walter Vickers was killed by a single shot from a plasma rifle. I watched the DVD of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn twice, and I see Walter Vickers receiving a horizontal slash across the chest with what I strongly believe is an Energy Sword, not a Plasma Rifle. Besides, the Zealot was carrying an energy sword. There was one time I saw a Sangheili wielding a Plasma Rifle (I don't think it was a Zealot, maybe an Ultra or Minor or something) battling the Marines and ODSTs as the remaining members of Hastati Squad is making a run to get away. But I do not, repeat, do not see Walter Vickers getting shot rather than slashed. I saw no plasma bolt go flying towards Vickers, I saw the Zealot round on Vickers, slashing horizontally across the chest, just as I saw the flash of an Energy Sword. That's what it looks like to me. Not to sound arrogant or anything, but my sharp eyes rarely lie to me. He was killed by an Energy Sword, not a Plasma Rifle. Trust me. And also, it could easily be artistic license or something. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 23:35, 5 December 2012 (EST)Xamikaze330

Same here. From my first viewing it clearly looked like it was death by energy sword. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 23:42, 5 December 2012 (EST)
Yeah, defnitely looks like a sword, not a Plasma Rifle.--Spartacus TalkContribs 23:51, 5 December 2012 (EST)

Killed by Plasma Rifle. The silhoutte is not that of an energy sword. Rusty was correct.— subtank 02:15, 6 December 2012 (EST)

That, and based on a frame-by-frame viewing, the Zealot clearly fires a shot that goes through his chest; even the hole is consistent with a plasma bolt rather than a sword slash. This is all based on the original online version, though, and it's not impossible that the visual effect was changed in the DVD release. That is, unless Subtank's image is from the DVD version. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 02:22, 6 December 2012 (EST)
Not from the DVD. I haven't checked out the DVD version but I'm sure it is the same as the webseries. — subtank 02:33, 6 December 2012 (EST)

Wasn't Vickers too far away to be slashed by the sword. Clearly Vickers was not standing close enough to get hit by the sword. When I first watched it clearly looked like a plasma bolt. It just happens so fast that it's hard to tell.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 08:22, 6 December 2012 (EST)

The DVD version is almost no different from the webseries. Vickers looked like he was close enough to be killed by an Energy Sword. I think I heard the slashing of an Energy Sword, but if it was a Plasma Rifle, wouldn't there have been the sound of a Plasma Rifle firing? 'Cause I'm pretty sure I didn't hear one go off. Something's fishy here. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 09:22, 6 December 2012 (EST)Xamikaze330
Okay, just saw Subtank's screenshot with the silhouette of a Plasma Rifle. I guess I was wrong all along. Well, wouldn't be the first time. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 09:25, 6 December 2012 (EST)Xamikaze330

*insert complaint about FuD's cinematography here* Tuckerscreator(stalk) 11:41, 6 December 2012 (EST)
