- I'd say the Major is more likely to be Thel, in an earlier period of his career. - Unlikely. Thel was surprised to see Jai when he encountered him. He was astonished by Jai's strength so it is unlikely at all that Thel was the elite John 117 faced as he'd have known exactly what the hell a Spartan was. Also remember Thel at that time was already a Zealot so his armor would have been gold. Immediately after the events in the book he was given command of the Fleet of Particular Justice. --Zervziel 20:56, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

When is it ever stated that he's a supreme commander? As far as I can recall he is only refereed to as commander, never supreme commander--Soul reaper 06:59, October 1, 2010 (UTC)
