Saaay, in Halo Uprising, Volume 1, one of the characters mentioned that something really bad happened to Australia:
"Doesn't it look like the UNSC is doing more damage than THEY are. Did you see what they did to Mombasa? Or-- Or Australia?"
Seems to me like something went down in Australia. Perhaps the Covenant zeroed in on HIGHCOM and took it out?

I noticed in Glasslands it was mentioned that Australia was leased from Russia (Vaz said that to Mal). Since they were ragging on each other, I'm not sure it was a serious statement, but did anyone else catch that mention? - Nasty Butler 1009 PST 3 DEC 11

Wait, if the flag is changed (the removal of the Commonwealth star and the union jack does this mean Australia is now republic, I think that's safe to say right?
