Step of Silence
The Step of Silence is the Covenant name for a timeframe of unspecified length in the 9th Age of Reclamation, corresponding to somewhere around September-October 2552 in the UNSC Military Calendar.[1][Note 1]
During the Step of Silence, the Prophet of Truth discussed the loss of the Unyielding Hierophant, as well as the failure of Thel 'Vadamee at Halo with Tartarus in High Charity's Sanctum of the Hierarchs.[2]

- ^ Although previously assumed by fans to be the name of a location within High Charity, this is not so. In a manner consistent with the other chapter headings, the placement of the phrase "Step of Silence" in the heading for the Epilogue of Halo: First Strike indicates that it is part of the time stamp, being separated from the location by a backslash. The location the chapter is set in is consistently stated to be the Sanctum of the Hierarchs in both the heading and the rest of the epilogue itself.
