Porplemontage's board
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
I went into the page to request a username change, and I followed the steps, but I think I did something wrong, because it looks different than all the other requests. Could you tell me how to lay it out correctly please? Thanks.
Hello, this isn't really a question about Halopedia or Halo, Im just trying to get some advice and some questions answered for developing a site that uses MediaWiki as well as the Nimbus skin (just like Halopedia does). The url is here: wwii-archives.org/index.php/WWII_Archives:Home. As can be seen I have been modifying the skin to my needs, but have a few questions that haven't gone answered. The first is how do you add the navigation and alert buttons? By default the Nimbus skin has some code for it but you can't see it even if you're logged in. The second question you don't necessarily have to answer, but ill post it anyway, as it was posted to the Nimbus skin discussion page but never answered:
I am trying to edit the Nimbus skin on my mediawiki to try and suit its needs, and was trying to modify the navigation dropdown to replace and add some pages listed to it. I also wanted to create multiple dropdowns as well after that. However I scanned through the different js, css, and php files to try and find where the list of page links in the dropdown are listed but couldn't find any, all I really could find was its activation and styling in NimbusTemplate.php and Nimbus.css. Menu.js doesn't really help as it just provides the framework of how the dropdown functions but not the list of links. Any info would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance
Excuse me, do you do why I can’t customize my user page? Everywhere says to contact an admin in case of problems.
Hope you're doing well! I remember the good old days on Porplemontage.com with Bloo Toons, Doughboy Movies and so many more. Great to see you still active on the web in other ways!
Could it be possible for you, or some other admin, to transclude Wikipedia's Twinkle tool to Halopedia? According to its Wikipedia page, it should work on any MediaWiki site. It would make tagging articles much smoother. Thanks!
Hi, just wanted to let you know that the Special Pages haven't updated for a few days(I'm assuming you're the guy that runs the basic site functions based on what you've edited).
Oh my totally forgot to say xD I am using Chrome. I am gonna test on a few other browsers though to be safe. I'll report back if the issue persists on them
Here is a bug report:
Me, Toa Freak, and Editorguy, and Toa freak have experienced problems with the login system. Where it sometimes "logs me out" for no reason, leading to us struggling to get back in. With the error message: "There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Go back to the previous page, reload that page and then try again."
A quick fix to the problem is to simply clear our cookies on our PC's but the issue sometimes returns.
I am guessing that it might be linked to the "Temp Vandal fix". But regardless I am only guessing here.
Excuse me Porplemontage, but for some reason Destinypedia appears to be down. I tried to access the site, but the whole thing seems to be offline. Please help!
So as per this discussion, could we request a "Portal:" namespace? We're thinking that creating these Portal pages will reduce the issue of the cluttered sidebar, which is currently over the item limit. Thanks!
Hello. Is it possible that a more eye friendly theme with a larger text size can be made. I am asking that because some people find halo nation easier to read due to its darker background.
Hey, just wanted to let you know that this glitch (?) has been periodically occurring both here and on Destinypedia this morning.
