That actually reminded me... Remember the mod thing I mentioned? I've seen mods get uploaded on to Bungie.net in the pictures thing, so when the pics come back, you might have better chances of finding a pic by looking for just a modder and not a modder with a capture card. That said, they could get banned for it. But with that said, they could just make one account that will get banned leaving them with their regular account to still play on. It's all moot right now with the picture system out, though.

Yeah, mildly happy--in other words, only a little. That new image is really nothing more than a placeholder. There's still a bit of crane left in the image, but there wasn't much I could do about that. Until I can find someone who has an HD capture card and Halo: Reach or Halo Anniversary, I'm hoping to get a couple or more better screenshots, one or two angled stills of the front and rear, and one from the side. I've been asking around and looking, still not much luck. (That's a metaphor; I generally don't trust in luck, I trust in providence.) Anyway, I looked through all my saved screenshots on my computer that I got off of bungie.net file search, and I found one that I thought might work for now. You can guess the rest. Still, not too bad, I guess.

Just saw the new Pillar of Autumn image. Somebody's happy.

I know people that could do, but not that would necessarily be willing. Apparently it's a long process. I've definitely seen mods of the Pillar of Autumn being driven in the level where it appears, so it definitely has its own model.

Try asking this guy first. If he's not willing to help, see if he knows other people that could do it.

It might be better if you tried going down the modded route, though, since the lighting will probably not be as good as in the Halo: Reach or Anniversary engines. Here's what I'm talking about:

You'd need to find someone with a capture card, though. HD, if possible.

Oh, now I see what you mean. Yes, actually that might just work. But I still don't know where to look and who to ask that would be willing to do such a thing. I don't suppose you know someone, do you?

Ripping is the term used when you take a model out of a video game. Say I took the model of Master Chief or a Warthog from Halo 3 and put it in my computer. That would be ripping a model for use in making my own animation, like Master Chief driving a Warthog in some generic road instead of in the actual game. I would have complete control over how it moved and the lightning, but unless I changed it, it would look exactly the same.

I kinda meant the canonically-"perfect" profile screenshot of the Pillar of Autumn from either Halo: Reach or Halo Anniversary. Forged objects simply do not count, not to Halopedia policy, and most definitely not to me. Though I must say, I am a little stumped and somewhat confused about what you are talking about, the armor pieces and the "ripping a model" part. But it may not really matter either way. I'll keep looking and waiting.

Well, there's one way. I've seen plenty of people that make movies with CGI models of Noble Six and other armour pieces. If they could get models for that, I'm sure they could rip the Pillar of Autumn. I'm pretty sure in the season 10 preview of Red vs Blue that the Freelancers had were from Anniversary. I definitely saw a variant of the M45 Shotgun.

I forgot to say that I wished they'd somehow been able to include the scanning process for the Pillar of Autumn in the video for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. Would have been very nice and very helpful. Damn, I guess I'll never be able to find a way to get the "perfect" screenshot of the Pillar of Autumn from either Halo: Reach or HCEA. Hopefully, sometime in the future Halo Waypoint will have some screenshots of the PoA.

Well, most of it I've already seen before, either in Halo: Reach or in Halo 3. But some of it is unique, and so I may find something to work on that is worthwhile. The M6D and the MA5B are still much too small to work with, though. But it's no biggie. Not like it really matters. But in case I think of something is in there that is suitably big enough, I've bookmarked it so I can re-view it later.

Thanks for the link. There may be something worthwhile in the video.

Don't forget to keep checking my talk page, just in case I update it! It would be a good idea to kill as many birds with as few stones as possible. Thanks again!

Great, thanks.

I was actually going to do them before you asked. I've got a reminder on my computer for them.

Damn. Should have made those requests a couple months ago. Well, keep me posted, and please don't forget to get those screenshots the minute you are able to. Thanks.

Moment I saw your post, I knew I had to bring this up. 343 is taking control of all that apparently, but no place to host screenshots as of yet. I have no official confirmation 343 will take over handling pictures and I don't know if it is true that all the pictures taken between moves will be on the site by the time the move is finished. Presumably, it's all going to the Halo Waypoint website along with everything else, but it's not there yet.

Thank you.

That's fine. I've been told that it won't work in Halo: Reach, and taking a screenshot in Halo Anniversary is hard because of the shaking of the camera or something. I didn't really expect you to even try to get a pic in Reach. No matter. Thanks for the help. I just updated my talk page again, so you might want to check it again in regards to the M41 LAAG in Halo 3. No rush.

Pan Cam isn't working for me. Won't be able to get the Pillar of Autumn shot.

Took some more from both sides and with better lighting.

Hmm... I meant take another of the Plasma Rifle in somewhere a little darker.

Here's the Halo 3 and OST stuff. Weirdly, the Plasma Rifle falls on the same side when you drop it every time.

Yeah. I'm handling that stuff tomorrow. Just getting the easy stuff done for now. It'll take me a good while to get the Plasma Rifle one.
