The Razor-class prowler is a class of stealth corvette in the UNSC Navy.[1] Razor-class ships were already in service during the Insurrection and were considered old by 2553.[2]

Specifications

Armament

The Razor-class prowler is often used for conducting air strikes against stationary targets, and as such it is well-armed in comparison to most prowlers. It is armed with a large missile payload composed of Argent V[3] and M28 Shriekers.[4] To protect its troops when disembarking, it has a pair of nose-mounted 50mm autocannons[3] and belly-mounted 30mm turrets.[4]

Crew and Complement

The Razor-class prowler is able to carry a full ODST platoon of 40 men in its drop bay, with any more than this leading to overcrowding. When increased to 42, it is estimated to take at least four seconds to clear the bay. This could potentially spread the platoon across a 30-kilometer area of space when deployed in a typical drop-and-go fashion.[5]

These prowlers had a flight deck, which had stations for a navigator, copilot, sensors and communications operators, and the flight commander. The engineering hold was divided into two decks, and was located in the middle of the prowler.[6]

Countermeasures

The Razor-class prowler had a refractive coating on its hull to obscure it from enemy sensors.[7] Although difficult to detect, human sensors have a 30% increased chance to detect the prowler when it is located roughly 100,000 kilometers away.[3]
