The Psi Serpentis system is a planetary system located approximately 47.8 light-years from the Sol system[1], and is identified as a region in FLEETCOM Sector Three.[2]
During the Human-Covenant War in 2543, the system was used by the Covenant as a staging area for a massive armada. As a response, Admiral Preston Cole took the Battle Group India to the system for a counter-attack. On April 18, 2543, Cole's fleet arrived and the Battle of Psi Serpentis took place, over the gas giant Viperidae. The Covenant fleet was annihilated when the UNSC Everest fired all of its nukes into the planet's core, effectively turning it into a momentary star.[3]
