The Notes on the History of the Covenant is a document written by Zo Resken, the former Prophet of Clarity, about the history of the Covenant empire. Knowing the opinions he expressed in the document would be considered heretical by the Covenant, Resken kept the notes safely locked away. Composed in 2552, the document was not to be made public until Resken's death. The Notes on the History of the Covenant was originally written in the San'Shyuum language.[1]

The document reflected on the Rending, the rebellion led by Ussa 'Xellus, and the involvement of Resken's ancestor, Mken 'Scre'ah'ben. The incorporation of the Lekgolo, Yanme'e, Kig-Yar, Unggoy, and Jiralhanae were also mentioned in the document. The document also noted the discovery of humanity, the beginning of the Human-Covenant War, the Fall of Reach, and the Battle of Installation 04. The Notes on the History of the Covenant was partially damaged, rendering some of the text unreadable.[1]
