McFarlane Toys is a subsidiary of Todd McFarlane Productions Incorporated that makes detailed models of characters from movies, comics, musicians, video games, and sport figures.[1]
BackgroundEdit
After the launch of Halo 3, they were given the contract to produce figures from the characters of the game, mainly the popular units, such as the Master Chief, and several multiplayer figures to incorporate the increasing demand by their customers.
Due to the success of the earlier figures, they also produced figures from Halo 3: ODST, such as Jonathan Doherty and Veronica Dare. Later on, they made figures from Halo Wars, along with the occasional figure from Halo 2.
On January 29, 2010, McFarlane Toys announced that they would produce the figures from Halo: Reach, which was released in September 2010.[2]
McFarlane Toys created a statue of Noble Team, which is included with the Legendary Edition of the game.
On November 2, 2012, McFarlane Toys' founder Todd McFarlane unveiled the exclusive limited-edition The Master Chief vs. The Hunter resin statue to commemorate Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, the live-action webseries produced for the promotion of Halo 4. Only 500 pieces were produced and each statue was sequentially numbered and given a Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed by Todd McFarlane.[3]
On October 10, 2013, McFarlane Toys announced the new Halo 4: The Master Chief resin statue. The statue recreates the iconic cover art of Halo: 4. The statue is limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide, and includes three interchangeable weapons. Each sequentially numbered piece includes a Certificate of Authenticity, hand-signed by Todd McFarlane. It was released on December 6 of the same year.[4]
On February 17, 2014, McFarlane Toys announced two Master Chief figures, based on his appearance in Halo 5: Guardians and Halo 2. They were released on October of the same year.[5]
In August 2015, the first series of Halo 5: Guardians figures were released. In the same year, McFarlane Toys revealed a new statue for Halo 5: Guardians, featuring Master Chief and Spartan Locke.
In January 2016, the second and last series of Halo 5: Guardians figures were released, along with the announcement of the end of the partnership between McFarlane Toys and 343 Industries.
FeaturesEdit
McFarlane Toys is notable for the amount of detail their figures have to in-game characters. However, it has been noted that the figures are very fragile; being prone to breaking within a few days of purchase. There have been multiple inaccuracies in marketing the figures (i.e: photos of figures have wrong accessories; incorrect naming; etc.).

In addition to purchasing the figures, customers would also receive 10-35 Halo points per figure (with exception of the Halo 3 12-inch Action Figures, which give the customer 40 Halo points) with in which can be redeemed for the Halo Points Program which started in January 2009. The Halo Points Program officially began in February, and all official redemption certificates must have been posted by November 30, 2009. The program was reserved to U.S., Canada, Australia and most European countries and has since ended.[6]
