The Weapon/Anti-Vehicle Model 6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Cannon (W/AV M6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Cannon or M6 G/GNC) is a chin-mounted laser cannon that is equipped on the AV-22 Sparrowhawk and its AV-22B variant.[1]. It is an upgraded variant of the M6 Spartan Laser.[3]

Overview

Design details

The M6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Cannon has similar firing and recharge rates to the man-portable M6 Spartan Laser, though it has a higher damage potential and a faster charge up. Unlike the standard Spartan Laser, however, the W/AV M6 G/GNC fires a bluish-white beam, which may suggest higher intensity.[2] The cannon allows gunners to conduct devastatingly effective long-range strikes with pinpoint accuracy.[1] After the Human-Covenant War, the components of the M6 G/GNC were miniaturized and installed on infantry-portable M6/E variants.[4]

Production notes

In the Halo Wars: Official Strategy Guide, the M6 G/GNC is discrepantly listed as the "H6 Spartan Hawk Laser".[5]
