Luyten is a human Inner Colony world of the Unified Earth Government,[2] located in the Luyten 726-8 system.[1] Relatively close to the Sol system, Luyten is approximately a six-day travel from Earth via slipstream space.[3] Luyten is comparatively smaller than the colonies in the Sol and Epsilon Eridani systems, though a strong, densely populated core world nonetheless.[2]
Caleb Aagard was born on the colony on May 16, 2511 in the city of Newport, later growing up in Old Willem. Aagard was a candidate for the SPARTAN-II program, though ultimately alluded his attempted abductors.[1] Olympia Vale was born on the world on January 20, 2536, before moving to Earth following her mother's assignment to UNSC High Command.[3]
