Spartan Commander Laurette Agryna is a SPARTAN-IV supersoldier who serves as a Spartan Commander.[3][1] She is stationed at the Avery J. Johnson Academy of Military Science.[4][5]

BiographyEdit

Early lifeEdit

As a young adult, Agryna lived in London, Britain on Earth. During the Battle for Earth in 2552, she found herself facing down Jiralhanae forces of the Covenant in the city.[6] Ultimately, she was saved by the timely arrival of Spartans. During her service within UNSC, Agryna displayed qualities of leadership and a willingness and capability to improve the quality of the soldiers under her—ultimately going on to join the SPARTAN-IV program,[7] becoming a supersoldier herself.[8] While earning experience as a Spartan, she frequently worked alongside Hieu Dinh.[9]

Training SpartansEdit

Following the destruction of Laconia Station during the Created conflict,[10] Commander Agryna took on the role as the acting commander at the Avery J. Johnson Academy of Military Science,[7] and was charged with training and mentoring Spartan-IV recruits at academy.[1][4][5] Later, she and fellow staff members aided Sigrid Eklund and Dinh, who'd returned from an operation. Dinh's neural link had been corrupted, rendering him comatose. In a debriefing, Eklund confirmed that she and Dinh had been on a recon op, investigating Banished activity at the UNSC fleet depot on Camber. During the operation, Dinh had retrieved an implanted a Banished AI, which was activated, and less than pleased to see the humans around him. Eklund also showed Agryna Dinh had retrieved on the archive the Banished were guarding on Camber. Agryna declared that they had to separate the AI from Dinh, and afterwards, get it to tell them everything it knew.[11]

To this end, Agryna upload the schematics of the Banished facility on Camber to the Academy's combat simulation. She ordered as many recruits as possible to hit the sim, irritating Iratus enough to leave Dinh and go after them. The ploy worked, and Iratus was contained, along with the Banished archive.[9]

Personality and traitsEdit

Agryna displayed qualities of leadership; this ultimately allowed her to join the SPARTAN-IV program.[7] As the instructor of the Spartan recruits, she is optimistic and encouraging.[2]

EquipmentEdit

In the academy, Agryna employs an armor with blue and white coloring. There is a bee stencil on the armor's chest piece that resembles a bee necklace Agryna wore as a young adult.[10] At some point after the Battle of Earth, Agryna has lost her left leg and uses an artificial limb as a replacement.[1]
