History

Rise of humanity

In the 2490s, the Colonial Administration Authority colony ship Chalybeate landed on one of the moon's mudflats for repairs. Instead of taking off again, the ship stayed grounded. Over the course of 60 years, hundreds of other ships began to rest around the Chalybeate turning this collection of vessels into the moon's capital city. This earned the moon its reputation of being the 'junkyard' of the Via Casilina Trade Route.[2]

Post-war

In the December of 2556, Rion Forge procured a piece of Forerunner navigational technology from a small bazaar on the moon, which sold for a large amount of money.[1]

In the May of 2557, Rion Forge and Niko returned to the moon to have their ship, the Ace of Spades, repaired. By this time, the moon was considered to have the best shipyards in the Outer Colonies. At the same time, Gek 'Lhar arrived on the moon to attend an auction held by Elld, a Yonhet trader.[2]

Government and society

Defenses

60-70 cannons across the various parked ships are still capable of firing and providing anti-aircraft fire. Orbital surveillance systems were also attached to the Chalybeate.[2]

Economy

A high-end black market is run out of the the former Harris-Romner Bank ship, Flintlock.[3] A bar was also present on the Erstwhile.[2]

Culture

Komoya was considered a "galactic melting pot"; Pirates, scouts, salvagers and opportunists along with ex-Covenant species lived together.[2]
