Koa wood is a type of wood from the Acacia koa, a tree native to the Hawaiian Islands. The reddish wood is often used for furniture and decorative carving. It was used in Vice Admiral Ysionris Jeromi's desk on UNSC Hopeful and was said to have "gleamed like gold under the light of a single brass lamp." [1]
