Jiralhanae Chosen Warriors are a class of Jiralhanae who serve the Banished. Jiralhanae Warriors who prove themselves in battle may be granted the title of Chosen Warrior. Chosen warriors have extended authority and jurisdiction, and operate with a greater level of autonomy than their previous stations.[1]

OverviewEdit

Jiralhanae chosen warriors command lower warrior squads. They typically wear augmented gold armor that bear markings which befit their new status. They also get first choice of weapons from the armories, and as such, many utilize non-standard weapons, including those of Forerunner and UNSC design. Despite their elevated status, chosen warriors lead the same contentious, embattled lives as lower-ranking warriors and fiercely compete with each other for the favor of their leaders.[1]

HistoryEdit

Multiple chosen warriors participated in the battle for Zeta Halo. One commanded the flame-bore's crew at Site Novem.[2]

GameplayEdit

Chosen warriors wear golden power armor enhanced with personal energy shields. They typically use Sentinel beams, although some wield the M41 rocket launcher and carry Manglers as sidearms. Like standard warriors, chosen warriors carry spike grenades.

Chosen warriors are more durable than all variants of standard Jiralhanae Warriors. Rocket launcher-wielding chosen warriors are particularly dangerous as they can kill the player with one or two direct hits. As with other Jiralhanae enemies in the game, chosen warriors' helmets can be shot off, rendering them vulnerable to a precision headshot. Typically, a single direct hit from a rocket launcher will kill a chosen warrior at full health and shields on any difficulty.

NotesEdit

  • If struck by an upgraded grappleshot, chosen warriors will not be electrocuted. They will instead assume a defensive posture and freeze themselves in place for several seconds (essentially the same effect).
