Title Update 2 was released on September 23, 2008[3][4] The update was primarily concerned with fixing "under the hood" issues for Bungie and Bungie.net web developers for stat tracking purposes. The changes for players were as follows;[5]

A new rank system was added for Halo 3 multiplayer. The system in question now calculates a rank for players per-playlist based on their EXP gains in that playlist; the system is a new addition to the Halo 3 ranking and does not replace the older skill and global ranks.[3]
Ten New achievements worth of 250 . The achievements primarily concern the first three Vidmaster Challenges and a series of achievements for the Legendary Map Pack (released in April 2008). An additional twenty achievements worth 500 were also revealed in the listings, though these were not made available until the releases of Halo 3: ODST and Mythic Map Packs I and II.
^Although made available in game with the September 23 update, Annual was not unlockable until two days later on September 25 - the one-year anniversary of Halo 3's launch.
