The Grenflekt Workshop Bladed Spiker is a variant of spiker predominantly employed by the Banished.[2]

Overview

Design details

The Grenflekt spiker differs from the more common Paegaas Workshop Spiker favoured by the Covenant in several areas. The weapon has a much more exaggerated profile with six radially-mounted tungsten spikes arrayed around the barrel, rather than the Paegaas' two. The weapon also has a smaller bore size than its cousin, allowing for improved penetration and an improved magazine capacity of fifty spikes, rather than the Paegaas' forty. As such, the weapon is considered more flexible in its use and requires reloading on a less frequent basis.[2]

The Grenflekt Workshop spiker employs gravitic assistance for launching its projectiles. The ability of the Banished to have developed and employed this technology has baffled UNSC technicians as of late 2558.[1]

Development history

The spiker design developed by Grenflekt Workshop was designed to suit the needs of the Banished. They designed the weapon to have a smaller bore than the more ubiquitous Paegaas design to allow for a higher magazine capacity and improved penetration. The weapon is manufactured by Mistrach'an Armory.[2]

Operational history

The Grenflekt Workshop spiker was predominantly used by the Banished, and was especially common among the forces accompanying Atriox during the Second Ark Conflict.[3]
