Gerdon 'Hilot was a Sangheili kaidon of the state of Hilot on Sanghelios. 'Hilot's mate was Kasha, who helped administrate the state. With the Covenant's demise at the end of the Human-Covenant War, Arbiter Thel 'Vadam sought to align the Sangheili with humanity. However, many Sangheili disagreed with his decision and revolted, leading to the Blooding Years. At the dawn of the civil war, 'Hilot allied his state with the Arbiter under the banner of the Swords of Sanghelios. In the resulting conflicts, 'Hilot was killed in combat and Kasha assumed authority over the state in the following chaos. As the fighting began to die down, Gerdon's best friend assumed the title of kaidon over Hilot.[1]
