Explore the Floor is an achievement in Halo 4. It is awarded for tricking or forcing a Hunter to fall into its demise during the sixth campaign level, Shutdown. The achievement is worth 20 Gamerpoints. It is represented by a Hunter's shield.[1]

The achievement can be unlocked in any difficulty in Halo 4. In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, it requires Heroic or Legendary difficulty.

Strategy

The player should have the Cowbell skull on, as it increases knockback from melee attacks and explosions. Once the player gets to the two Hunters, the player should be armed with either a Fuel Rod Cannon, Incineration Cannon, or both. The Hunters should be lured closer to the player and closer to the edges of the platform, but not too close that they can kill the player with their shield bash attack, especially on Heroic or Legendary.

Now, the player should start shooting the Hunters with the Fuel Rod Cannon and Incineration Cannon. The Hunters should recoil from the blasts and come closer to the edges of the platform. If the player kills one Hunter with the Incineration Cannon, which has stronger knockback than the Fuel Rod Cannon, the Hunter that was just killed should then fall down into the abyss if it was standing close to the edge of the platform when it was killed. The achievement will still be unlocked even if the Hunter disintegrates from the Incineration Cannon's incendiary antimatter projectiles. The achievement can be made easier by activating the Cowbell skull to further increase the knockback from the explosives.

Another strategy is to turn on the Tough Luck skull. This causes the Hunters to perform their shield bash attack more often, and the player needs only dodge them each time while luring them off the platform into the abyss.

The last strategy to use is to use a jetpack as when the Hunter was about to melee player on the edge, the player will immediately move back, activating the jetpack for evasion while the Hunters fall from the platform.
