Chong was a senior engineer aboard the military cargo tender, UNSC Dark Was the Night.[1]
History
In 2552, the Dark Was the Night crashed on the colony, Losing Hand, destroying the colony's wind farm in the crash. The acting captain, Darren Leone, offered to power the town with the ship's reactor. This proved a problem for Chong, as powering both the ship and the town would often put a strain on the reactor. Almost a year after the crash there had been a system overload, which caused the town to suffer a power outage that Chong and his team had struggled to repair. Due to the tension between the colonists and crew, few of the colonists believed that a system overload occurred, instead insisting the power outage was intentional. Days later, the regular food-trade load of salted fish had arrived with over half of it contaminated by fuel oil, labeled an accident by locals.[1]
