Operational history
In the 2490s, the Chalybeate landed for repairs in a mudflat on the moon Komoya in the Sverdlovsk system. The ship didn't take off again and instead stayed landed on the moon. Other starships began collecting around the parked ship, eventually forming a city.[1]
By 2557, roads had been built through the Chalybeate to connect to various other parts of the city. The ships artificial intelligence had become a superintendent for the thriving city, managing other shipboard AIs and maintaining the city's defense, communications satellites and other municipal functions.[1]
Trivia
Chalybeate is the name for a type of iron-based mineral water, and the name of several small towns in the United States.
