In 2370, humanity arrived in the Chittor system and established Barrier as a colony world under the jurisdiction of the Unified Earth Government.[1]
Human-Covenant warEdit
The Covenant discovered and attacked Barrier in 2552. However, the planet ultimately was not glassed.[1]
Post-warEdit
In late 2558, Benjamin Giraud visited a statue of John-117 on Barrier.[2] Additionally, Giraud's interview on ECB News was broadcast from Barrier.[3]

The planet is home to the ECB News studios.[3]
