Biography[edit]

In 2553, Baldric Breit was attached to the Office of Naval Intelligence's 717th Xeno-Materials Exploitation Battalion as the company commander for the battalion's Charlie Company. During the battalion's operations to search for Forerunner ancilla Intrepid Eye on the human Outer Colony of Gao in 2553, Breit and the rest of Charlie Company were stationed in the village of Wendosa with access to the Montero Cave System to allow them to search for the ancilla.[1]

However, on July 4, 2553, Wendosa was attacked by forces of the Keepers of the One Freedom, forcing Charlie Company to mount a defense with assistance from some members of Blue Team. While Charlie Company initially faced heavily casualties, the rest of Blue Team soon arrived and attacked the Keeper forces from behind. With all Spartans now engaging the Keepers and disrupting their attack, Breit prepared to organize a counterattack before the Keepers had time to regroup. However, Breit also learned that Frederic-104 of Blue Team had captured Huragok Roams Alone and the ancilla. Reporting the situation to Commander Murtag Nelson and Major Tereem Wingate, Breit was ordered by his superiors to hold out against the Keepers until reinforcements arrived to assist Charlie Company and evacuate the ancilla. However, further contact was broken when Intrepid Eye shut down planetary communications.[1] Once a UH-144 Falcon arrived to evacuate the ancilla, Breit also had the remaining Gao Ministry of Protection personnel board the aircraft. When Fred arrived with the ancilla and Roams Alone, Breit had Fred take the ancilla aboard, though the Huragok was forced to remain behind due to his reluctance to board the Falcon.[2] Instead, Breit assigned Roams Alone to treating injured Marines and civilians, upon the suggestion of Olivia-G291.[3] However, as the Falcon departed the village, it was shot down by Keeper forces.[2] While the rest of Blue Team moved to the crash site, Breit personally traveled to the battalion's headquarters at the Montero Vitality Center to brief his superiors.[4]
