Additions

In the 2016 physical release of Halo: New Blood, a coda was included at the end of the novel. This coda acts as direct set-up for Halo 5: Guardians, explaining how Edward Buck joined Fireteam Osiris before the events of the game.

Continuity

This series shares narrative connections with Halo 5: Guardians, with the game's events taking place between both stories, directly influencing the events of the second novel, Halo: Bad Blood.

This series also shares a narrative connection with the short story Lessons Learned from Halo: Fractures, with the story's events following Rudolf Schein's attack on the Spartan training station in Halo: New Blood.
