The Acolyte-class harrier, or fourth-order harrier tactical escort, was a classification of fourth-order harrier employed by the Forerunners during the Forerunner-Flood war.[1] During the Created conflict, the Created fielded several Acolyte-class harriers as well.[3]
OverviewEdit
Design detailsEdit
Bearing a spearhead profile similar to that of the much smaller Despair-class fighter, the Acolyte-class harrier was heavily armed to the point of being capable of taking on larger capital ships with sufficient coordination. The vessel's internal carrier bay was capable of holding sentinels and weapon-ships with both offensive and defensive capabilities.[1] Acolyte-class harriers also possess advanced stealth capabilities which can make the vessels even more difficult to detect than UNSC prowlers.[2]
UsageEdit
Forerunner-Flood WarEdit
Seeing service during the Forerunner-Flood war, Acolyte-class harriers' deadly combination of weapons and carrying capacity allowed them to serve alongside the Forerunner Ecumene’s most prized starfighters, with their weapon systems effectively equal in power.[1]
Created conflictEdit
By late 2559, several Acolyte-class harriers had come under the control of Cortana's Created. Three of these vessels were stationed at Netherop in the Ephyra system.[3] Others were assigned to trail vessels carrying high value individuals, such as the Sword of Harmony as it transported Arbiter Thel 'Vadam to Netherop.[4]
