Valence is a planetary system under the jurisdiction of the Unified Earth Government.[1]

History[edit]
In 2450, humanity colonized the Valence system, establishing colonies on the moons of the planet Atlas.[1] The Atlas Moons were attacked by the Covenant in 2538, resulting in the prolonged Siege of the Atlas Moons. Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb commanded the UNSC naval forces during the battle, gaining reputation for his accomplishments,[2] and ultimately the moons of Atlas were not glassed.[1]
