Gravediggers is an ad hoc unit formed during the Battle for Zeta Halo. It is composed of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers from the UNSC Marine Corps originally attached to UNSC Infinity in 2559. They are one of a number of ad-hoc militias formed from the survivors of Infinity's destruction to operate on the ring, others including Hatetriox and the Boat crew.

History

Main article: Battle for Zeta Halo

Following the loss of the organized UNSC resistance at the crashed UNSC Mortal Reverie, a ragtag group of hardened ODST veterans formed the Gravediggers as a guerilla unit. By March 3, 2560, the Gravediggers had built a reputation among UNSC survivors for being effective at taking out Banished supply runners and raiding parties.
