That... is utterly preposterous. And not in a good way. Sorry. Ok, so maybe don't always use the DMR anymore. That two shot-melee is pretty good. This is craZboy557, signing off. 15:09, 30 August 2013 (EDT)
Lol Highly imaginative w/ your ideas. Have to agree w/ Crazyboy on this one. I can see the ship being 25% larger though (to be more realistic). Not much to say about Drew but Cortana turning into a human?? Its bad enough that Halo 4 introduced science-fantasy elements into the genre which were lame IMO but an AI being turned into a human? That takes the cake.--Killamint [Comm|Files]
Though.. on the FutD forums, someone once jokingingly mentioned Cortana getting turned into a human at the end of a sequence getting uploaded into several succesivly more advanced chassis throughout the next games. The first one was a monitor, and someone else mentioned that that might actually make for some interesting gameplay possibilities. But yeah, human is ridiculous, the UNSC almost certaintly doesn't have the necesarry precision to do that, not to mention it'd be a horrible use of an A.I. I know that if I was an A.I. I sure as hell wouldn't downgrade to wetware.... anyway, what I really wanna do is see how insanely huge that ship would be..... 25 times larger.... *beep boop beep....* it'd be 142.355 kilometers long. Oi. I wonder how huge that is. it's probably bigger that the moon..... *wikipedia boop beep* Oh. Ok... smaller than the moon.... uhhh..... smaller than Texas.... ah, there we go. It would be almost as long as Maryland is wide. It took the Infinity two decades to be built, the "Independence" would almost certainly be a multi-generational project. If you've got an idea, do some quick checking to make sure it makes sense. It's fun to go all Pokemon you drew on the back of your notebook when you were six, but if you're trying to have a serious idea you've gotta account for being realistic. Ok, so maybe don't always use the DMR anymore. That two shot-melee is pretty good. This is craZboy557, signing off. 19:22, 30 August 2013 (EDT)

Do remember, that constructs that size aren't impossible. Look at the Halos. Granted, current human tech in the haloverse would probably take a really long time. But its not impossible.Siphon 117 19:19, 5 September 2013 (EDT)

That's understandable but those were the Forerunners. They were a tier 1 society that had the capability to construct insane things. We're talking about Humans who are a tier 3/2 society that hasn't mastered world building. And even then, such a ship could take YEARS to build and would wound up being a very large target. There's no point in building a ship the size of High Charity. The Infinity class is good enough.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 21:37, 5 September 2013 (EDT)
Not disagreeing with you, just making a point. And, I do see your point. Maybe, say, 50 to 100 years down the rode, and the UNSC could build large constructs like a 142 kilometer long ship. But, seeing how practical the UNSC makes things, I doubt they would make such a thing. Siphon 117 21:59, 5 September 2013 (EDT)
Well they have built constructs like the Rubble. But it will take a lot of time for them to build things that are even more massive. They would have to study the Halo installations & shield worlds (preferably Trevelyn). But with a good amount of research the UNSC could build something nice. IMO, I just don't see a need for such a large ship though.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 08:32, 6 September 2013 (EDT)

There is something that I didn't see in Halo 4 that I would like to see in the next game. And that is some new UNSC energy weapons. I haven't seen any yet and that's a huge disappointment to me. They made the Infinity look like it was shooting energy beams (by the "delay" of the impact to the Mantle's Approach) so why didn't they just give it an energy projector like weapon. Hell, make it fit into the useless 5th MAC barrel in front of the ship. Aside from ship weapons give us some portable ones. That would confirm to me that humans have officially moved into tier 2 on the technolgoical scale. Not to say they haven't since they already have energy shielding, Spartan lasers, pulse lasers (I think), and precision slipspace navigation.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 08:32, 6 September 2013 (EDT)

Story-wise, I think we would be more likely to see a proliferation of the Spartan Laser tech before we start seeing other stuff, like Plasma and Particle weaponry. We already got some inkling of this with the Pelican Gunship and Sparrowhawk.Missing Mandible (talk) 00:29, 10 September 2013 (EDT)
Maybe a laser sniper weapon? Kinda like the Spartan laser, but not as powerful, and with more shots. I personally would like to see a human melee weapon, like a reverse engineering of the energy sword. Siphon 117 16:15, 10 September 2013 (EDT)
Wouldn't that simply contribute to weapon redundancy, an issue that is currently plaguing Halo 4 and possibly Halo 5? Spartan-laser-esque sniper weapon? Sounds like the beam rifle/focus rifle. Human melee weapon based on reverse-engineered energy sword? Essentially an energy sword but more of a human design. These two essentially spell out redundant additions to the weapon sandbox. If anything, change the mechanics of the weapons. For example, BR/DMR/MA5 are capable of firing burst, single shot or full-auto. Assign that to the D-pad and let the users choose the fire rate. Return stun effect to plasma rifles and pistols. Rewrite the Forerunner weapon sandbox.— subtank 18:56, 10 September 2013 (EDT)
Lol yeah, that is literally just a second energy sword. Gotta get creative. Don't be 343i, sittin' up here copy pasting weapons and giving them a lil "orangey" flavor. Got to have something more unique. @Missing Mandible - that's just the UNSC giving the spartan laser more use. That's fine and dandy but that's not what I want to see. I barely even used the Spartan laser in Halo 4 - no kills with it whatsoever in MP (for a charge-up weapon, I prefer the Railgun- my favorite new weapon in the game). I want to see something like a pulse cannon or rifle that shoots powerful energy rounds that can shred through both shields and health. Maybe make it a weapon that must be obtained on the map, not something that players can start with. IDK.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 20:34, 10 September 2013 (EDT)
I agree it makes technical sense to start introducing energy weapons more widely, especially in space combat and heavy weaponry roles. But for personal weapons, I would think humanity would be more likely to stick with projectile weapons. We've known Covenant weapons were immensely inefficient for a long while, and even if the UNSC can make them more effective, the effort and expense of replacing so many weapons would be immense. From an aesthetic point of view too, I think I would rather the UNSC stick with that kind of look than a more "advanced", sleek look - I always liked the contrast between the weird Covenant style, the elegant Forerunner look, and the UNSC's more robust, industrial visuals. -- Qura 'Morhek The Autocrat of Morheka 23:14, 18 September 2013 (EDT)
