VMX-22
Marine Tiltrotor Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron Twenty-Two (VMX-22) is a tiltrotor squadron in the UNSC Marine Corps that operates the UH-144 Falcon tiltrotor aircraft.[1][2].
This unit can trace its lineage back to the unit of the same name in the United States Marine Corps. Established in August 2003 at Marine Corps Air Station New River, this squadron was responsible for testing the MV-22B Osprey multi-mission tiltrotor aircraft, and all future aircraft of the type. VMX-22 is the first modern-day military unit to be featured in the Halo universe, though many other real-world units appear in Halo: Reach.
[edit] Deleted material
VMX-22 is part of the deleted material from the Halo games. During the development process, the developers are forced to remove some content from the finalised product. As such, many aspects of the games, such as vehicles, gameplay, and story elements, were not included in the finalised versions.
