Oddball Kill

Oddball Kill (Ball Kill in Halo 4) is a medal awarded and in Halo 3, Halo: Reach and Halo 4 multiplayer for killing another player while carrying an Oddball. In Halo 3 and Reach it is represented by a red skull on a white eight-pointed star. In Halo 4 it is represented by the Oddball symbol with a lightning bolt on the forehead on a grey triangle.
As ball carriers cannot fire weapons, use grenades or any other type of weapon, these are melee and beat down kills. While holding the oddball, your hits will be more powerful, needing only one hit to kill an opponent.

- Prior to the shutdown of Xbox 360 Halo online services on January 13, 2022, earning three of these medals in a Halo 3 matchmade game on a Legendary map in Halo 3 would unlock the Alas, Poor Yorick achievement.
- Prior to the shutdown, earning three of these medals in a Halo: Reach matchmade multiplayer game would unlock the Crackin' Skulls achievement.
